Dr. Philip Yong-Xin, Li  Assistant Professor in Chemical Biology

Bio

Dr. Philip Yong-Xin Li is a passionate and dedicated Assistant Professor in Chemical Biology at the University of Hong Kong. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in pharmaceutical science from Peking University before pursuing his Ph.D. at HKUST, where he worked on the genomics-guided discovery of marine natural products. Dr. Li is committed to integrating bioinformatics and synthetic biology to unlock the potential of microbial genetics for discovering new therapeutics, with a particular focus on harnessing the bioactive molecules from complex microbiota (human and ocean).
